There are well-mannered dogs that are not obedient and there are obedient dogs that are not well-mannered. I prefer that my dogs be both, well mannered and obedient. Your preference might be the same or it might not. Whatever your goal is, we will achieve it through the services I offer.

WELL-MANNERED
Well-mannered means that your dog behaves appropriately in all situations. Some common dog behaviors that owners want to change are jumping up, too much barking, being destructive, soiling in the house, pulling on the leash, stealing food or clothing, aggression toward people and dogs.

OBEDIENT
An obedient dog obeys your commands. Common commands are Sit, Stay, Lie Down, Come, Heel, Leave It, Wait.

SERVICES:

One on One Consultations
For puppies/dogs of all ages (6 week to senior citizens) and sizes. The subject matter of our visits is whatever you choose: manners, obedience or both. I often ask families to jot down a wish list that will be our guideline. Your family and I will determine how many times and the duration of each appointment in order to achieve your goals. I often meet with families one time to consult about a very specific problem or to determine if a problem is workable. However, most people meet with me three or more times to achieve the results they are looking for. Remember, my first goal is to train the family. These multiple meetings usually occur every three weeks, at your convenience. We meet at your home or at other locations that will be conducive to the training. I charge $90 per hour and offer a special 3½ hour in 3 sessions package for $270. Appointments are scheduled on Fridays from noon to 7pm and on Saturdays from 9am to 4pm.

BASIC OBEDIENCE GROUP CLASSES
The group classes consist of 7 weekly sessions of 45 minute duration. Dogs must be 6 months or older. These classes are taught indoors, year round, in Windsor. The goal is for your dog to learn common obedience commands and to obey them. Manners are not covered in these classes. Total cost - $115 ($105 for Windsor residents)

BETTER MANNERS GROUP CLASSES
This group class consist of 3 weekly sessions of 1 hour duration. Dogs must be 5 months or older. These classes are taught indoors, year round, in Santa Rosa. The goal is for you to learn techniques to train your dog to obey household rules and to be well socialized. Common issues owners want to resolve are jumping, barking, and destruction. Basic obedience commands are not covered in this class. Total cost - $60

EARLY PUPPY TRAINING GROUP CLASSES
This group class consist of 4 weekly sessions of 1 hour duration. Puppies must be between 3 months and 5 months. These classes are taught indoors, year round, in Santa Rosa. What are appropriate goals for puppies? Learning when to manage the puppy and what and how to train it. Common problem behavior problems covered are jumping, mouthing, chewing, etc. Proper exposure, toys, grooming, and much more are also discussed. Total cost - $80

BOARDING
This is a very special option for the wee ones. If your dog weighs less than 25 pounds, you can arrange for him/her to stay with me in my home environment. Staying in a home allows your dog to not be as stressed as in a kennel environment and it helps maintain its home manners. Before your dog stays with me, I will conduct an interview with you so I can learn about what your dog is used to. Along with being comfortable at my home with my furry friends, your dog will go for walks with us, ride in the car, visit friends, etc. Basically I try to help your dog feel as much like it is at home as I can. Dogs love coming to stay with me because it’s like going to their “Best Friends” house and hanging out. The charge is $60 per night. The minimum stay is one week for the first time boarder.
